Finding Courage in God’s Unchanging Reverence

The fear of man may come and go, often rooted in the fleeting moments of insecurity, approval, or circumstance. It is a fear driven by the opinions, judgments, and expectations of others, and it can change with every new encounter or shifting tide of influence. One moment, we may tremble at the thought of displeasing someone, and the next, that fear fades as quickly as it came. It is an emotion shaped by the ever-changing winds of human relationships, and it is fragile, often fleeting.

However, the reverence of God is not bound by time, place, or circumstance. It is eternal, steadfast, and unshaken by the whims of humanity. To reverence God is to acknowledge His greatness, His sovereignty, and His holiness—a recognition that transcends earthly fears and human concerns. The fear of man may cause us to bend or break under pressure, but the reverence of God roots us, strengthens us, and gives us courage.

While the fear of man fades with time or circumstance, the reverence of God only grows deeper as we walk in relationship with Him. It is a reverence grounded in love, awe, and respect for the Creator who is both infinitely powerful and tenderly personal. It guides us in our choices, steers us in the right direction, and anchors us when the storms of life seem overwhelming.

To revere God is to live in the light of His eternal truth, to honor His word, and to seek His presence above all. This reverence is not fleeting—it is a foundation that remains secure, even when everything else around us shakes. While the world may try to sway us with the fear of man, God’s reverence invites us to stand firm, unshaken by temporary pressures, knowing that His love and majesty are far greater than the fleeting judgments of others.

In this reverence, we find the courage to speak truth, to act justly, and to live faithfully, for we are not bound by the ever-changing tides of human approval, but anchored in the eternal, unchanging reverence of the Creator.
