These six simple words carry a profound depth. They speak not only to the human heart but to the divine design behind every relationship.
True love is not shallow affection or passing admiration. It’s not love that hides behind a mask or only sees the surface. Real love sees. Real love knows — and still chooses to stay.
To be truly loved is to be truly known — not just for our strengths, but for our weaknesses. Not just for the parts we show in the light, but for the parts we try to hide in the shadows. And yet, despite it all, we are embraced.
Think of a child whose parent knows every scar, every quirk, every fear — and still wraps them in unconditional love. Think of a friend who has seen you at your worst and doesn’t run away. Think of a God who formed you in the secret place, counted every hair on your head, and still chose to love you before you ever said yes to Him.
This is the kind of love the soul longs for. Not just admiration, but understanding. Not just attention, but acceptance. Not just affection, but awareness — to be seen deeply and still called “beloved.”
Many are loved for what they give, or how they appear. But to be truly known is to be naked and unashamed — like Adam and Eve before the fall. That is the original design. That is the ache in every human soul: to be found out… and still found worthy.
This is why God’s love is unmatched. Because He knows everything — and yet still loves with everything.
To be loved is to be known.
And to be known… and still loved?
That is grace.
That is home.
Being Known
To be loved is to be known—
Not just the smile, the polished tone.
But every scar, and silent ache,
The parts we hide, the hearts that break.
It’s more than praise for deeds we do,
Or fleeting looks that seem to woo.
True love sees past the outer frame,
And gently calls us by our name.
It knows the fears we never voice,
The fragile dreams, the reckless choice.
It sees the storm behind our eyes,
Yet stays—refusing to disguise.
A parent’s touch, a friend’s embrace,
A God who meets us face to face—
Who knew us ere the world began,
And shaped our soul with tender hand.
He saw the dark and loved us still,
He bore our shame upon His hill.
Not one regret could chase Him far—
He loves us just the way we are.
So let the world admire and leave,
Let shallow hearts make us grieve.
For one who truly loves will stay,
And know us in the light of day.
To be loved is to be known—
Not judged, not fixed, not left alone.
But held within a heart that sees,
And whispers, “Child, come rest in Me.”
